Author picture

Angela Harper is a public affairs and government relations executive and founder of HarPR, with over two decades of experience at the intersection of politics, policy, media and community. A former Canberra Press Gallery journalist and Deputy Bureau Chief for AAP in Brisbane, she brings a sharp understanding of how narratives influence decision-making and how to position messages for impact. Her career includes advising cabinet ministers, leading advocacy campaigns, and managing reputational issues across defence, infrastructure and health. She is known for a pragmatic, outcomes-focused approach, working across political lines to connect leaders and stakeholders around evidence-based policy.

Her career is grounded in service and leadership. Angela served as an Army paramedic, shaping her approach to communication and decision-making under pressure. She has run a Senate campaign and maintains strong relationships across government, media and industry. She currently serves on two boards and as an ambassador for a national veterans’ charity, reflecting her ongoing commitment to the defence community. Her work is defined by a focus on influence, integrity and impact, supported by a disciplined approach to resilience.
