Michael Lyddiard

Michael Lyddiard is an Australian Defence Force veteran, an AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapist, and the founder of Integral Rehab.Following a distinguished military career as a Combat Engineer and Explosive Ordnance Disposal specialist, Michael sustained life-changing injuries during operational service in Afghanistan attempting to render safe an IED. His lived experience of trauma, recovery, and rebuilding identity now informs his work across rehabilitation, veteran advocacy, and medico-legal occupational therapy practice.

Through Integral Rehab, Michael supports individuals within the NDIS, DVA, and workers' compensation sectors focusing strongly on veteran-specific services and functional independence. He also provides specialist occupational therapy knowledge to HomeFront Australia, supporting individuals to achieve meaningful goals through adaptive strategies, education, and real world participation.

Beyond clinical practice, Michael has completed multiple endurance and fundraising events that has included Ironman Cairns, the Rottnest Channel Swim (19.8km), and the Mark Webber Tasmania Challenge. He also represented Australia at the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto, winning three gold and two silver medals. Michael is passionate about combining lived and clinical experience to empower others, promote occupational justice, and challenge perceived limitations through resilience, purpose, and connection.
