Shane Dimech is a devoted father, maritime professional, and Australian Army veteran, having served 11 years including deployment to Iraq and specialist roles in maritime counterterrorism. After leaving the military, he built and led successful marine businesses before shifting his focus to community impact. Shane has spent years volunteering with veteran and emergency services organisations across NSW and Queensland, supporting wellbeing through practical, peer-driven initiatives. In 2024, he founded Our Mate-Ship Limited, a registered charity delivering free, water-based experiences and community programs designed to support connection, resilience, and shared understanding among those who serve and their families.
