With a career grounded in service, resilience, and compassion, Joshua Surgenor brings together experience from the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), frontline paramedicine, and social work to support those who serve others.
As a former serving member of the RAAF, a dedicated paramedic, and now a qualified Social Worker, Joshua has developed a unique understanding of the pressures faced by veterans, emergency services personnel, and healthcare workers, both professionally and personally. Witnessing these challenges firsthand inspired a transition into social work, driven by a commitment to bridging the gap between support systems and the people who need them most.
Drawing on military discipline, frontline emergency experience, and advanced social work knowledge, Joshua advocates for improved mental health and wellbeing services for frontline professionals. His work focuses on empowering veterans and first responders to thrive during and after their careers, while contributing to innovative approaches that address the complex and often overlooked needs of those working in high-pressure service environments.
