The Gold Coast is preparing to host the annual Behind the Mask Charity Gala, a black-tie masquerade ball aimed at raising vital funds for PTSD Resurrected Inc., a local charity dedicated to trauma recovery and mental health support. Scheduled for Saturday 16 May 2026 at the Home of the Arts (HOTA) Lakeside Ballroom, the event promises an elegant evening combining philanthropy with live entertainment and fine dining.

Attendees are invited to don formal attire and Venetian-style masks for a night that blends sophistication with purpose. The gala will include a three-course dinner, live music from the Royal Australian Navy Band, and a variety of entertainment features designed to engage and inspire participants.

Proceeds from the ball go directly towards supporting PTSD Resurrected Inc.’s flagship initiatives, including the REBOOT Trauma Recovery courses. These courses are offered at no cost to participants across Australia and focus on addressing the underlying causes of trauma, providing intensive, peer-led support to veterans, first responders, and others affected by service-related post-traumatic stress.

Founded on the Gold Coast in 2017, PTSD Resurrected Inc. has grown from a grassroots veteran-led charity into a national organisation that also supports individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, childhood trauma, natural disasters, and other life-altering events. The charity’s holistic approach combines community connection, lived experience, and structured healing programs to help participants rediscover hope and purpose.

The annual masquerade ball is one of the organisation’s key fundraising events of the year, alongside other community activities and awareness campaigns. Funds raised will support the delivery of vital services and expansion of outreach programs that contribute to reducing rates of suicide and improving long-term wellbeing among service communities.

The event will also feature live auctions and raffles throughout the evening, as well as a presentation from speed painter, Brad Blaze, offering unique experiences and prizes to further boost fundraising efforts. Early-bird tickets are now available, with group bookings encouraged for those wishing to reserve tables.

Set against the backdrop of the glittering Gold Coast, this year’s masquerade ball is poised to be both a highlight of the Veteran community’s social calendar and a significant contributor to ongoing efforts in addressing trauma and mental health in Australia.
